In November last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Western Art, which included the work Navajo in Chief's Robe sight 9 3/4 x 4 in. framed 18 x 12 in. by Maynard Dixon. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,837.50 (€ 10,498.40), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maynard Dixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pony Boy in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 1,326,000.00 (€ 1,562,573.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Navajo in Chief's Robe sight 9 3/4 x 4 in. framed 18 x 12 in. von Maynard Dixon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.837,50 (€ 10.498,40) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maynard Dixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Pony Boy im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.326.000,00 (€ 1.562.573,65).
