Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Last Lap by Maynard Dixon was sold in the Western Art auction at Bonhams in April this year. The price achieved of USD 31,875.00 (€ 28,872.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maynard Dixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pony Boy in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 1,326,000.00 (€ 1,562,573.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Last Lap von Maynard Dixon wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Western Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 31.875,00 (€ 28.872,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maynard Dixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Pony Boy im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.326.000,00 (€ 1.562.573,65).
