Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Promise; Pointing in Pointing Out; & The Sight by Maya Ishii was sold in the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 62,500.00 (€ 6,510.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maya Ishii - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tremor; & Glitter, which sold at auction in November 2010 for HKD 200,000.00 (€ 19,760.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Promise; Pointing in Pointing Out; & The Sight von Maya Ishii wurde im Mai 2012 in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 62.500,00 (€ 6.510,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Maya Ishii mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tremor; & Glitter beobachtet, die im November 2010 für HKD 200.000,00 (€ 19.760,66) versteigert wurde.
