The work Sitting for a Portrait by Max Weber was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art auction at Bonhams in New York in December last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 7,012.50 (€ 6,554.96), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Weber achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work New York in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,925,000.00 (€ 1,728,783.12).

Die Arbeit Sitting for a Portrait von Max Weber wurde im Dezember letzten Jahres in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 7.012,50 (€ 6.554,96) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Max Weber erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit New York im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.925.000,00 (€ 1.728.783,12).
