In July 2000 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Poultry on the edge of the forest by Max Hänger. The »bidding war« ended at NLG 1,872.32 (€ 823.00), 56% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Max Hänger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ducks and wildfowl by a stream, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,817.46).

Im Juli 2000 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poultry on the edge of the forest von Max Hänger zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von NLG 1.872,32 (€ 823,00) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Max Hänger mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ducks and wildfowl by a stream beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.817,46) versteigert wurde.
