The »bidding war« ended at HKD 110,000.00 (€ 12,850.93), 69% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Mauro Malang Santos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Yellow Vendor in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 825,000.00 (€ 90,801.00).

Die Arbeit Mother And Child von Mauro Malang Santos wurde im Oktober 2015 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 110.000,00 (€ 12.850,93) und damit 69% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mauro Malang Santos auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Yellow Vendor im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 825.000,00 (€ 90.801,00).
