Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October this year Bonhams in London held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Self Portrait by Maurits Cornelis Escher. Here, the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 20,480.00 (€ 19,379.26). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurits Cornelis Escher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reptiles (Bool 327) in April last year with an auction result of USD 756,000.00 (€ 717,471.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self Portrait von Maurits Cornelis Escher zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 20.480,00 (€ 19.379,26) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maurits Cornelis Escher erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Reptiles (Bool 327) im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 756.000,00 (€ 717.471,77).
