Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Santa Severina, Calabria by Maurits Cornelis Escher was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Bonhams in London in October this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 12,160.00 (€ 11,506.43). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurits Cornelis Escher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reptiles (Bool 327) in April last year with an auction result of USD 756,000.00 (€ 717,471.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Santa Severina, Calabria von Maurits Cornelis Escher wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 12.160,00 (€ 11.506,43) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maurits Cornelis Escher erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Reptiles (Bool 327) im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 756.000,00 (€ 717.471,77).
