Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Winter Scene by Maud Lewis was auctioned at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2012. Here, the upper estimate of CAD 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for CAD 7,800.00 (€ 6,095.41). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maud Lewis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A View Of Sandy Cove, which sold at auction in November 2012 for CAD 20,400.00 (€ 15,788.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Winter Scene von Maud Lewis kam im Mai 2012 bei Sothebys in Toronto zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von CAD 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für CAD 7.800,00 (€ 6.095,41) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Maud Lewis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A View Of Sandy Cove beobachtet, die im November 2012 für CAD 20.400,00 (€ 15.788,44) versteigert wurde.
