Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Winter Scene by Maud Lewis was sold in the Important Canadian Art auction at Sothebys in Toronto in November 2011. The price achieved of CAD 7,200.00 (€ 5,247.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maud Lewis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A View Of Sandy Cove, which sold at auction in November 2012 for CAD 20,400.00 (€ 15,788.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Winter Scene von Maud Lewis wurde im November 2011 in der Auktion Important Canadian Art bei Sothebys in Toronto versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von CAD 7.200,00 (€ 5.247,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit CAD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Maud Lewis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A View Of Sandy Cove beobachtet, die im November 2012 für CAD 20.400,00 (€ 15.788,44) versteigert wurde.
