Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2010 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Covered Bridge In Winter by Maud Lewis. Here, the upper estimate of CAD 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for CAD 7,800.00 (€ 5,827.86). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maud Lewis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A View Of Sandy Cove, which sold at auction in November 2012 for CAD 20,400.00 (€ 15,788.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2010 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Covered Bridge In Winter von Maud Lewis zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von CAD 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für CAD 7.800,00 (€ 5.827,86) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Maud Lewis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A View Of Sandy Cove beobachtet, die im November 2012 für CAD 20.400,00 (€ 15.788,44) versteigert wurde.
