Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Team Of Oxen by Maud Lewis was auctioned at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2011. The price achieved of CAD 6,000.00 (€ 4,308.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maud Lewis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A View Of Sandy Cove, which sold at auction in November 2012 for CAD 20,400.00 (€ 15,788.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Team Of Oxen von Maud Lewis kam im Mai 2011 bei Sothebys in Toronto zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von CAD 6.000,00 (€ 4.308,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit CAD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Maud Lewis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A View Of Sandy Cove beobachtet, die im November 2012 für CAD 20.400,00 (€ 15.788,44) versteigert wurde.
