Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2004 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work A White House Is Not White by Matthew Franklin Johnson. The price achieved of AUD 8,962.50 (€ 5,201.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 7,500.00 – 10,000.00. Other works by Matthew Franklin Johnson have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2005 the work Relic was auctioned for AUD 15,535.00 (€ 9,549.45).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 8.962,50 (€ 5.201,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 7.500,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden.
