Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2001 Christies in Sydney held the auction CONTEMPORARY ART, which included this untitled work by Matthew Franklin Johnson. The price achieved of AUD 8,225.00 (€ 4,774.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Other works by Matthew Franklin Johnson have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2005 the work Relic was auctioned for AUD 15,535.00 (€ 9,549.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2001 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion CONTEMPORARY ART durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Matthew Franklin Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 8.225,00 (€ 4.774,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Matthew Franklin Johnson konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2005 die Arbeit Relic für AUD 15.535,00 (€ 9.549,45) versteigert.
