Auction result well in line with expectations

In July 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Study Of A Captive Figure In A Long Coat by Matteo Rosselli. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,446.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matteo Rosselli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diana The Huntress in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 92,644.06).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Juli 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study Of A Captive Figure In A Long Coat von Matteo Rosselli zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.446,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matteo Rosselli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Diana The Huntress im Januar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 92.644,06).
