In July 2008 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Pictures, which included the work Saint John the Baptist by Matteo Rosselli. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,499.18), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Matteo Rosselli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Diana The Huntress in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 92,644.06).

Im Juli 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saint John the Baptist von Matteo Rosselli zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 13.499,18) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matteo Rosselli auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Diana The Huntress im Januar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 92.644,06).
