In January 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings, which included the work PORTRAIT OF FERDINANDO II DE' MEDICI (1610-1670), FULL-LENGTH, IN A GOLD-EMBROIDERED DRESS WITH LACE RUFF COLLAR, WEARING THE ORDER OF SANTO STEFANO, WITH HIS RIGHT HAND RESTING ON THE PLAN OF A FORTRESS by Matteo Rosselli. The »bidding war« ended at USD 57,360.00 (€ 46,064.89), 43% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Matteo Rosselli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Diana The Huntress, which sold at auction in January 2017 for USD 100,000.00 (€ 92,644.06).

Im Januar 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit PORTRAIT OF FERDINANDO II DE' MEDICI (1610-1670), FULL-LENGTH, IN A GOLD-EMBROIDERED DRESS WITH LACE RUFF COLLAR, WEARING THE ORDER OF SANTO STEFANO, WITH HIS RIGHT HAND RESTING ON THE PLAN OF A FORTRESS von Matteo Rosselli zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 57.360,00 (€ 46.064,89) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Matteo Rosselli mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Diana The Huntress beobachtet, die im Januar 2017 für USD 100.000,00 (€ 92.644,06) versteigert wurde.
