Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Seated Young Man Wearing A Hat by Matteo Rosselli was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,625.00 (€ 3,790.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matteo Rosselli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diana The Huntress in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 92,644.06).
