Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Matt Gondek could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the No Regrets: 20th/21st Century Art Online auction, the work Growing Pains changed hands for HKD 37,800.00 (€ 4,529.78) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 40,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Matt Gondek have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Aggression in March 2021 with an auction result of HKD 239,400.00 (€ 26,217.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Matt Gondek konnte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion No Regrets: 20th/21st Century Art Online wechselte die Arbeit Growing Pains für HKD 37.800,00 (€ 4.529,78) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matt Gondek auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Aggression im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 239.400,00 (€ 26.217,18).
