The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 20,369.28) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mather Brown - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Major Norton, the Mohawk Chief Teyoninhokarawen, which sold at auction in September 2007 for GBP 46,100.00 (€ 66,104.01).
