Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mather Brown could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work Lord William Russell with his family before his execution changed hands for USD 14,400.00 (€ 11,273.78) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mather Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Major Norton, the Mohawk Chief Teyoninhokarawen in September 2007 with an auction result of GBP 46,100.00 (€ 66,104.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mather Brown konnte im Oktober 2006 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Lord William Russell with his family before his execution für USD 14.400,00 (€ 11.273,78) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mather Brown auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Major Norton, the Mohawk Chief Teyoninhokarawen im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 46.100,00 (€ 66.104,01).
