The work Portrait Of George Fermor, 3Rd Earl Of Pomfret (1768-1830) by Mather Brown was sold in the Old Master and Early British Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in October 2008. The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,098.56) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mather Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Major Norton, the Mohawk Chief Teyoninhokarawen in September 2007 with an auction result of GBP 46,100.00 (€ 66,104.01).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Portrait Of George Fermor, 3Rd Earl Of Pomfret (1768-1830) von Mather Brown wurde im Oktober 2008 in der Auktion Old Master and Early British Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.098,56) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00.
