This artwork by Mat Collishaw achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March this year. In the First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Last Meal On Death Row 'Johnny Frank Garret' sold for GBP 6,930.00 (€ 7,884.21) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mat Collishaw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Leda and the Swan, which sold at auction in March 2019 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,311.72).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Mat Collishaw erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit Last Meal On Death Row 'Johnny Frank Garret' für GBP 6.930,00 (€ 7.884,21) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mat Collishaw mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Leda and the Swan beobachtet, die im März 2019 für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.311,72) versteigert wurde.
