The work Infectious Orchid 02 by Mat Collishaw was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2012. It achieved a price of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,311.64), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 40%. Admittedly, works by Mat Collishaw have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Leda and the Swan in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,311.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Infectious Orchid 02 von Mat Collishaw kam im November 2012 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.311,64) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 40%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mat Collishaw auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Leda and the Swan im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.311,72).
