engraving, circa 1501, on laid paper, watermark Bull's Head with Serpent and Cross, a very good, early impression of this large and rare print, remargined, with skilfully made-up paper losses along the sheet edges and into the subject, with horizontal and vertical central folds, partially broken through and skilfully repaired, other repairs and touches of pen and ink in places

Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2014 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Prints, which included the work The Martyrdom Of Saint Catherine (B. 8; L. 9) by Master MZ. The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,114.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Master MZ have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Ball (The Palace Of Duke Albert Iv At Munich) in December 2015 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 28,856.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Martyrdom Of Saint Catherine (B. 8; L. 9) von Master MZ zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 6.114,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Master MZ auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Ball (The Palace Of Duke Albert Iv At Munich) im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 28.856,48).
