Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Dune du Pyla by Massimo Vitali was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in October last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,020.00 (€ 1,026.78). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Massimo Vitali achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rosignano in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 151,000.00 (€ 95,539.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Dune du Pyla von Massimo Vitali im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.020,00 (€ 1.026,78) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Massimo Vitali erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rosignano im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 151.000,00 (€ 95.539,39).
