Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Frances Adcock, Mrs. Robert Butcher (b. 1710), half-length, in a brown dress and lace shawl and cap, feigned oval by Mason Chamberlin was sold in the Old Master & 19th Century Art auction at Christies in London in July 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,864.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Mason Chamberlin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Girl With A Robin in April 2011 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,300.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Frances Adcock, Mrs. Robert Butcher (b. 1710), half-length, in a brown dress and lace shawl and cap, feigned oval von Mason Chamberlin wurde im Juli 2011 in der Auktion Old Master & 19th Century Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.864,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
