Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a lady, probably Elizabeth Hartley (1751-1824), half-length, in a pink dress with blue sash and shawl, her right elbow resting on a book on a ledge, in a landscape by Mason Chamberlin was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2004. The price achieved of GBP 3,585.00 (€ 5,335.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mason Chamberlin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Girl With A Robin, which sold at auction in April 2011 for GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,300.30).

Die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, probably Elizabeth Hartley (1751-1824), half-length, in a pink dress with blue sash and shawl, her right elbow resting on a book on a ledge, in a landscape von Mason Chamberlin kam im Juni 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.585,00 (€ 5.335,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Mason Chamberlin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of A Girl With A Robin beobachtet, die im April 2011 für GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.300,30) versteigert wurde.
