Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mason Chamberlin could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & 19th Century European Art auction, the work Portrait Of A Gentleman changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 4,762.51) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mason Chamberlin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Girl With A Robin, which sold at auction in April 2011 for GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,300.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mason Chamberlin konnte im Juni 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art wechselte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman für USD 7.500,00 (€ 4.762,51) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mason Chamberlin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of A Girl With A Robin beobachtet, die im April 2011 für GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.300,30) versteigert wurde.
