Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale), which included the work The Cloisters / Birth of Venus by Masami Teraoka. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 800,000.00 – 1,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 812,500.00 (€ 88,769.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Masami Teraoka have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Cloisters Venus and Pope's Workout in November 2009 with an auction result of HKD 4,820,000.00 (€ 414,685.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Cloisters / Birth of Venus von Masami Teraoka zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 800.000,00 – 1.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 812.500,00 (€ 88.769,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Masami Teraoka auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Cloisters Venus and Pope's Workout im November 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.820.000,00 (€ 414.685,87).
