Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Masami Teraoka could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction, the work New Views of Mount Fuji Series / La Brea Tar Pits changed hands for HKD 125,000.00 (€ 13,656.81) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 160,000.00 – 320,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Masami Teraoka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Cloisters Venus and Pope's Workout in November 2009 with an auction result of HKD 4,820,000.00 (€ 414,685.87).
