Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work The Builder by Mary Potter. The price achieved of GBP 6,812.50 (€ 7,511.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mary Potter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Evening II in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 31,600.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Builder von Mary Potter zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.812,50 (€ 7.511,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mary Potter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Evening II im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 31.600,84).
