Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Little Flower by Mary Potter was auctioned at Bonhams in London in September 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,812.50 (€ 4,203.90). Admittedly, works by Mary Potter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Evening II in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 31,600.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Little Flower von Mary Potter im September 2020 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.812,50 (€ 4.203,90) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mary Potter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Evening II im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 31.600,84).
