This artwork by Mary Potter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in December 2020. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Aldeburgh Beach sold for GBP 14,000.00 (€ 15,639.25) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mary Potter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Evening II, which sold at auction in June 2008 for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 31,600.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mary Potter erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Aldeburgh Beach für GBP 14.000,00 (€ 15.639,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mary Potter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Evening II beobachtet, die im Juni 2008 für GBP 25.000,00 (€ 31.600,84) versteigert wurde.
