This artwork by Mary Gallagher achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2005. In the The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh auction, the work Still life with jug of flowers and goldfish sold for GBP 5,400.00 (€ 7,963.37) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mary Gallagher; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Roses and a Red Fan sold at auction in October 2006 with the realized price of GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,605.95).
