Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Bette Davis Eyes and Other Natural Phenomena: Photographs at No Reserve, which included the work Amanda and Her Cousin Amy, Valdese, North Carolina by Mary Ellen Mark. Here, the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 5,670.00 (€ 4,779.16). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mary Ellen Mark - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Clayton Moore - The Former Lone Ranger At His Home - Los Angeles, California, which sold at auction in March 2015 for USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,965.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Bette Davis Eyes and Other Natural Phenomena: Photographs at No Reserve durch, in der auch die Arbeit Amanda and Her Cousin Amy, Valdese, North Carolina von Mary Ellen Mark zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 5.670,00 (€ 4.779,16) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Mary Ellen Mark mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Clayton Moore - The Former Lone Ranger At His Home - Los Angeles, California beobachtet, die im März 2015 für USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.965,18) versteigert wurde.
