A top price for Maruyama Okyo
This artwork by Maruyama Okyo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2007. In the Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Cranes sold for USD 1,105,000.00 (€ 777,129.19) - well above the upper estimate of USD 400,000.00. This high result makes Cranes the most expensive artwork by Maruyama Okyo that we have observed at auctions so far.
