It achieved a price of EUR 6,000.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20 %. Admittedly, works by Martinus Schouman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The English flagship Venerable engaging the Dutch flagship Vrijheid at the Battle of Camperdown, 11th October 1797; the Dutch ships Staten-Generaal and Admiral de Vries to the left and right respectively in February 2004 with an auction result of USD 45,410.00 (€ 36,500.28).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 6.000,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martinus Schouman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The English flagship Venerable engaging the Dutch flagship Vrijheid at the Battle of Camperdown, 11th October 1797; the Dutch ships Staten-Generaal and Admiral de Vries to the left and right respectively im Februar 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.410,00 (€ 36.500,28).
