Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Martinus Schouman could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work A River Landscape With Some Small Masted Boats In The Foreground, A Village On The Far Shore changed hands for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,811.53) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,500.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Martinus Schouman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The English flagship Venerable engaging the Dutch flagship Vrijheid at the Battle of Camperdown, 11th October 1797; the Dutch ships Staten-Generaal and Admiral de Vries to the left and right respectively in February 2004 with an auction result of USD 45,410.00 (€ 36,500.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Martinus Schouman konnte im Juli 2008 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wechselte die Arbeit A River Landscape With Some Small Masted Boats In The Foreground, A Village On The Far Shore für GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.811,53) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.500,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martinus Schouman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The English flagship Venerable engaging the Dutch flagship Vrijheid at the Battle of Camperdown, 11th October 1797; the Dutch ships Staten-Generaal and Admiral de Vries to the left and right respectively im Februar 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.410,00 (€ 36.500,28).
