Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Chair at the Pool by Martin Werthmann was sold in the Living Contemporary auction at Sothebys in Cologne in June last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 6,300.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Martin Werthmann - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Narathiwat II, which sold at auction in July 2020 for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,942.80).
