In November 2017 Christies in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work Red Haired Girl by Martha Walter. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,875.00 (€ 9,980.67), 70% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martha Walter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pink Umbrella in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 266,500.00 (€ 189,262.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Red Haired Girl von Martha Walter zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 9.980,67) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martha Walter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pink Umbrella im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 266.500,00 (€ 189.262,13).
