Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Interior - Brittany by Martha Walter was sold in the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2013. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,597.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martha Walter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pink Umbrella in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 266,500.00 (€ 189,262.13).
