Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Portrait Of A Mexican Family by Martha Walter. The price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,279.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martha Walter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pink Umbrella in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 266,500.00 (€ 189,262.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Mexican Family von Martha Walter zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.279,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martha Walter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pink Umbrella im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 266.500,00 (€ 189.262,13).
