In October 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Late Afternoon At Brighton Beach by Martha Walter. The »bidding war« ended at USD 75,000.00 (€ 55,171.40), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Martha Walter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pink Umbrella, which sold at auction in September 2008 for USD 266,500.00 (€ 189,262.13).

Im Oktober 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Late Afternoon At Brighton Beach von Martha Walter zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 55.171,40) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Martha Walter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pink Umbrella beobachtet, die im September 2008 für USD 266.500,00 (€ 189.262,13) versteigert wurde.
