Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Martha Boto was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,225.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Martha Boto have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Deplacement Helicoidal Lumineux, 1967 in December 2011 with an auction result of EUR 83,565.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Martha Boto kam im Mai 2016 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.225,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martha Boto auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Deplacement Helicoidal Lumineux, 1967 im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 83.565,00.
