In November 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Ecumé by Martha Boto. The result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 35,326.33) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Martha Boto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Deplacement Helicoidal Lumineux, 1967, which sold at auction in December 2011 for EUR 83,565.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ecumé von Martha Boto zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 35.326,33) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Martha Boto mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Deplacement Helicoidal Lumineux, 1967 beobachtet, die im Dezember 2011 für EUR 83.565,00 versteigert wurde.
