Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An extensive, mountainous, river landscape, with Abraham and the Angels by Marten van Valckenborch I was sold in the Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings & Watercolours (Day Sale) auction at Christies in London in December 2010. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,999.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Marten van Valckenborch I have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An extensive river landscape with peasants haymaking, a view of Arenberg Castle beyond in December 2003 with an auction result of GBP 117,250.00 (€ 166,069.26).

Die Arbeit An extensive, mountainous, river landscape, with Abraham and the Angels von Marten van Valckenborch I wurde im Dezember 2010 in der Auktion Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings & Watercolours (Day Sale) bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.999,92) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden.
