In November 2013 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Concentration by Mark Dion. The result of EUR 5,000.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Dion - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Babel, which sold at auction in March 2018 for USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,175.32).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2013 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Concentration von Mark Dion zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 5.000,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mark Dion mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Babel beobachtet, die im März 2018 für USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.175,32) versteigert wurde.
