Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work He Barked Just Like a Watchdog by Mark Bradford. The price achieved of USD 4,870,000.00 (€ 4,717,620.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Bradford - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Helter Skelter I, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 8,671,500.00 (€ 9,872,981.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit He Barked Just Like a Watchdog von Mark Bradford zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.870.000,00 (€ 4.717.620,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000.000,00 – 6.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Mark Bradford mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Helter Skelter I beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 8.671.500,00 (€ 9.872.981,37) versteigert wurde.
