Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nudo by Mario Mafai was sold in the ARTE MODERNA E CONTEMPORANEA auction at Christies in Milan in November 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of ITL 4,500,000.00 – 5,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of ITL 4,700,000.00 (€ 4,324.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mario Mafai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Natura morta con manichino, maschera e abito rosso (recto); donna in abito da sera (verso) in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 96,500.00 (€ 138,580.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Nudo von Mario Mafai wurde im November 2000 in der Auktion ARTE MODERNA E CONTEMPORANEA bei Christies in Mailand versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von ITL 4.500.000,00 – 5.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von ITL 4.700.000,00 (€ 4.324,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mario Mafai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Natura morta con manichino, maschera e abito rosso (recto); donna in abito da sera (verso) im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 96.500,00 (€ 138.580,35).
